sniff sniff to a brand new year with them old being kiasu and grumpy.
updated @ 12:25 AM
it's 2008 already. a brand new year for all of us. a public holiday. yumyum.
what better way to have a cosy quality time over dinner with the family on this new year.
dad has this liking towards places with great food recommended on tv.
over some time ago, im not sure if it's Suria Segar or other channels that recommended of the
great food over at Bedok Food Centre especially when the host did try the hot selling pizza.

so he brought us all to try it since we've never been there before.
well, i did tell them to try Bedok Corner since i already did try once with the cliques in October last year and it was fantabulous.
but heck, dad insisted on trying Bedok Food Centre.

as soon as we reached, we had a hell of our time looking for available parking lot.
too many cars entered but only few exited from the carpark.
the niecey was grumbling already of the long wait. LoL. we only had oatmeal for lunch, mind you.
haha, dad was being nice for disallowing mum to cook for today.
but thank goodness, luck was on our side.
we waited for a mere 10 minutes and coincidentally, a young man with his packed food drove his car out, which was just beside us. =)

i've always dislike the parking part.
no, not because of the difficulty of parking your car but the bad attitude of certain people.
as we walked into the food centre, we saw a group of kiasu family already booked a parking lot just by standing at that lot.
and it's so obvious that this malay driver was already waiting in front of that lot just waiting for the moment for that car to be driven out.
we were shocked of course to see that.
hmm, is there a law for it? for using your family members or any other people to stand there for booking a lot for parking?
gosh, unreasonable. selfish. typical kiasu.

the malay driver argued with them. even another family who saw that including my mum argued too to back him up.
like hello? please lah. to think that putting tissue as a form of booking a seat in any food centre isn't enough,
now goes the same to parking ah? -_-
they somehow relented since it's so obvious they were wrong to do that.
they move aside. BUT their old man did not relent. they tried to pull him in.
their old man diedie stood there very still (degil pulak tu org tua ni! no offence though.) despite the malay driver already wanting to
reverse his car into that parking lot.

in the end?
of course, the malay driver did not reverse straight on him lah.
poor thing that the malay driver gave in to that old man and drove off to look for other parking lot. kesian.
we were all pissed. what a moron. nonsense.
panggil polis baru tahu. LoL.

mum: "hah itu sebab..orang tua memang mcm tu tau. selain jadi lebih sensitif, org tua pun makin degil."
me: " A'ah lah mak...kalau uda (me), tak mcm ni ah!"
mum: "Eh jgn ckp besar..."
LoL. ok keep my mouth shut.

to put that aside, finally it was our virgin trip to Bedok Food Centre.
we were pretty excited of course. but lo and behold, it was jam packed with humans.
yea, i know it had got to be humans. but you get the drift. LoL.

like i mentioned earlier, luck was definitely on our side.
we found a seat around 10 minutes later. haha.
but then again, the table was filled with plenty of dirty dishes which took the cleaners a very long time to clear them.
to our amazement, there were only three cleaners. what?!
dad was pissed over this. he rather disliked over the service.
with so many people, tables, stalls and there were only three cleaners. -_-
and it did not help if all the three cleaners worked their own sweet time despite customers raising/waving their hands and calling them
to clear the dishes away.
and apparently, mum did approach this cleaner since none even bother to clean ours.
guess what? that auntie ignored my mum siah! wa lao! like talking to a wall siah. wah, i angry siah.

ok we kept it cool later. tried to wait for other cleaners.
but heck, sampai besok pun tak sampai lah seh!
we gave up. we cleared the dishes ourselves since it was afterall a malay family who was previously using that table.
we did not care for anything. we just cleared them and put them aside on the floor near the bin behind us.
lucky for the wet baby tissue Along brought along. tsk!

now, the food part. ok best.
the thing is, i ordered nasi ayam penyet for myself and mee soto for dad at this particular stall called, Satay Power.
so much for the name aye! power ke ape!?! weak lagi ada lah.
the rice tasted like nasi lemak. and the supposed sambal belacan tasted like the typical sambal for nasi lemak. no less!
sad lah seh! nak taknak kene telan je. pfft!
and dad commented the soup for the mee soto was just so watery. kurang rase. aiyo.
not ony that, we waited for like 45 minutes for the pizzas from the Gemelli stall to be ready.
aarrgh.

so much for the excitement for our virgin trip here.
never will we even visit here again.
the nasi ayam penyet? Ria is the only food restaurant at Lucky Plaza that sells the best nasi ayam penyet so far.
and that will be the next food trip for the family. dad is the only one in the family who has yet to try that. LoL.

wah, didn't realised what a lengthy entry i typed in here for this. haha.
goodnyte all! =)
